This book is actually a movie on paper, a translation of Swedish artist Lina Selanders video installation Around the Cave of the Double Tombs, made in 2010. The video installation is a loop. It is black and white, without sound and combines still images and short text sentences with some moving sequences with street views of Hebron. When you browse through the book you wander these streets. Above you, you see the rubbish that Israeli residents dump on the lower streets of the Palestinians, who are protected by iron grilles that span the streets.
The book is 608 pages and reproduces the film almost frame by frame. The reproduction of Selanders installation is followed by an essay on the artwork in German and English by the German curator Felix Vogel.
